Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Now Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; so the children of Israel heeded him, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses. – Deut 34:9

Joshua inherited supernatural wisdom because Moses, “…laid his hands on him.” There is power in the laying on of hands! I believe prayer can be effective from a distance; but there is something special that happens when you receive prayer in person. When someone who is anointed by God lays his or her hands on you and prays, your life will fundamentally change!

This is one of the reasons why it is so important to be part of a local church. When something happens in your life and you need prayer, do you have people to whom you can go and ask them to 1) pray and 2) lay their hands on you? You can’t get hands laid on you if an online, streaming service is your only source of the word of God. Get up, get out, and get prayer in person!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the power in the laying on of hands. I pray You would plant me in a community full of people who are ready to pray, in faith, that miraculous things would happen in my life!
