Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of Israel again the second time.” – Josh 5:2
A new level of victory required a new level of commitment! God was about to take Israel into the Promised Land. All the men of Israel had died in the wilderness; but none of their children had made a commitment to God. So, God asked Joshua to circumcise the next generation: a physical demonstration of a spiritual commitment. He asked them to pledge their lives to God, so He would know they were ready for victory in the land where He was taking them.
Where is God taking you? Is He asking you to commit yourself in a brand new way so you’re ready when you get there? Give Him everything you have. Hold nothing back! And get ready to experience victory like never before.
Prayer:
Father, make me ready! I want to go where You want to take me. Whatever it requires, I am willing. I give my life to You, in Jesus’ name!
