Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all. – 1 Sam 30:19

David and his men returned from battle. Their city, Ziklag, was burned to the ground. Their wives and children had been taken captive! It seemed like all was lost. But God would restore everything their enemies had stolen.

When David asked God what to do, God told him to pursue his enemies. So David hunted down the men who had burned their city. God gave them into his hand, and he recovered everything that had been taken. God had protected and preserved everything that belonged to David and his people!

David thought that all was lost; but God turned it into gain! God protected everything the enemy had taken. What’s more, God would add to David as he recovered what was lost.

What has the enemy stolen from you? Believe for divine restoration: that God would not only restore what was taken, but that He would give even more into your hand!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for protecting everything the enemy has taken from me. I know that all will be restored – and then some – in Jesus’ name!
