CityLight Pastor Commentary:

“Do not be afraid…for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city” (Acts 18:9-10). New York City has 8.4mm residents. But it can still be the loneliest place in the world. The good news is God has an infinite social circle. When you need good, supportive friends, ask Him for some. Your local church is a great place to start. On top of that, God will also fill your life with divine appointments and connections if you let Him. He will introduce you to people who support you no matter what, and friends who stay with you through thick and thin. He might even introduce you to your husband or wife! He has many people in New York City; so we should never feel alone.

Prayer:

Father, fill my life with divine friendships, connections and appointments! Grow my social circle the way You want it to be grown: with constructive, supportive relationships that turn me towards the Cross, and never away from You!
