Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

But Judah was carried away captive to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness. – 1 Chron 9:1

Faith leads to faithfulness. Faith means believing what God says is true; and faithfulness is doing what God says to do. Judah’s problem was they tried to be faithful, even though they had no faith.

Our victory comes when we understand that faithfulness is impossible without faith! Trying to be faithful without first cultivating faith is a fruitless endeavor: a waste of time and effort. God is not interested in behavior modification, which is faith-less faithfulness. He is interested in heart transformation, which is faith-filled obedience!

First things first. Don’t worry about getting everything right. Simply believe. Start with faith, and God will take care of the faithfulness!

Prayer:

Father, fill me with supernatural faith in Jesus’ name! I confess that I can’t be faithful on my own. I need help, and I know the first step is faith!
