Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, for He shall receive me. Selah – Ps 49:15

The Psalmist didn’t have any doubts about his salvation. He knew God would redeem his soul from the power of the grave. He knew God had already received him! Look at the strength of the language employed here: God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave. He shall receive me. And this is the confidence God invites you to have in your salvation too.

Your salvation is secure. It is a mistake to think we can commit a sin that is “unforgiveable.” As long as we turn to God, there is still grace. As long as we have breath in our lungs, there is still time! There is no sin so great that it can overshadow the finished work of the Cross.

If you “confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Rom 10:9). You will be saved: no matter what.

Prayer:

Father, make me confident in my salvation. I know You separate me from my sin, as far as the east is from the west. Today I want to say goodbye to my sin – and my doubt – forever!
