Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. – Col 3:3

When you gave your life to Jesus, you died. The “old you” – the sinful you – was buried; and the “new you” – you who are the righteousness of Christ (2 Cor 5:21) – came to life! You are now dead to sin. You don’t have to waste your time pursuing things that aren’t productive anymore. You are alive to God “in Christ Jesus” (Rom 6:11).

Your life is “hidden with Christ in God.” Now that the old you is dead, and the new you is alive, God will never look at you the same way again. He no longer looks at you and sees your sin; He looks at you and sees His Son! The same way He is pleased with Jesus, He is pleased with you! The same way He loves Jesus, He loves you! The same way He will be with Jesus for all eternity, He will be with you!

The old you is dead! Aren’t you so happy to be alive in Christ?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for killing the old me. I didn’t like him anyway. Thank You for bringing the new me to life! Thank You that I am now hidden with Christ in God. There’s nowhere I would rather be, in Jesus’ name!
