Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
The word that the Lord spoke against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet. “Declare among the nations, proclaim, and set up a standard; proclaim—do not conceal it—say, ‘Babylon is taken…’” – Jer 50:1-2

Babylon was strong! Yet God called Jeremiah to proclaim that she was weak. The Chaldeans were winning battle after battle! Yet God called Jeremiah to announce to the world that they had fallen.

God will call you to declare things that are not as though they were (Rom 4:17). He wants to partner with you! He will ask you to speak things out over your life so they can come to pass. Whether or not you declare them is up to you; but either way, your life will become a reflection of the words you speak.

Your words are powerful! Do not let the enemy convince you to keep your mouth shut. Open your mouth wide, and declare the truth God has given you to speak, in Jesus’ name!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for giving me powerful speech. Remind me to proclaim life – never death – over my body and my family. Thank You that death and life are in the power of my tongue, in Jesus’ name!
