Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Moreover He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” – Ezek 3:1

If you want something to say, you have to eat the word!

God has given us His logos:[1] His written word. He will also speak an on-time word called the rhema:[2] His spoken word (Rom 10:17). If you want more rhema, eat more logos! As you process the logos, God will speak to you with specific instruction (rhema) to help digest (i.e. interpret) the word you have just read.

Prophecy that does not line up with the word of God is error. A house divided cannot stand (Matt 12:25). God will not say something that disagrees with His Word, because that would mean He is disagreeing with Himself!

Do you want God to speak to you more? Eat His Word, and learn to recognize the sound of His voice. Spend time with the word of God, and He will speak to you like never before.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your written word. Help me to get full of Your written word, so I can hear You more accurately through Your spoken word. I know the more I eat, the more I will hear, in Jesus’ name!
