Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. – 1 Jn 5:4
Faith is not just the key to victory; faith is the victory. If you have faith, you are victorious!
You might read that and think, “But my life doesn’t look victorious.” But if you have faith, you are in Christ Jesus; and Jesus has already overcome the world (1 John 4:4)! Scripture says you are more than a conqueror (Rom 8:37) through Him!
Faith is, “…the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Heb 11:1). Faith is what covers you with the victory Jesus already won on the Cross. Faith is your proof that God will do everything He said He will do! If you have faith in Jesus, you have everything you need.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for faith! Help me to believe in Your Word – Your Son Jesus Christ – like never before. I know my faith is my victory.
