Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Then the Lord came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, although they never did so again. – Lev 11:25

You become like the leaders you serve. Moses was anointed: the Spirit of God was upon him. But Moses was also stressed: he was bearing a burden that was too great. So, he asked God for help. God took of the Spirit that was upon Moses, and placed the same Spirit upon the seventy elders. These elders – those who had served Moses, and would continue serving Moses – received of the same anointing that Moses carried!

Notice that Moses couldn’t take of the Spirit that was on him and put it on the elders himself. The Lord had to come down and do the work. But when God’s appointed time had arrived, the elders received the greatest Gift they could ever imagine.

Find great men and women of God who have an anointing you want to carry. Serve them, with no strings attached. Your service to them is service to God; and you will receive of what they carry in abundance.

Prayer:

Father, thank You that the more I serve You, the more I become like You! Help me to have a selfless, grateful attitude. Help me to serve with all my heart, and no strings attached, in Jesus’ name!
