Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,” Says the Lord of hosts. – Mal 3:1

God comes suddenly to His temple. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19)! When you seek God, He comes suddenly to you: without warning, when you least expect Him.

Do you need a suddenly in your life? Seek God! Behold, He is coming.

Prayer:

Father, I want to seek You with my whole heart. Come, Lord! Come into my life and do whatever You want to do. I give you full permission to invade every area of my life, in Jesus’ name!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation. – Ps 149:4

God takes pleasure in you!! He doesn’t just put up with you even though he doesn’t like you. He doesn’t just let you into Heaven because you found a loophole called salvation. He created you to love you! He created you to bless you!

When you know God takes pleasure in you, everything changes. When you live with confidence that He loves you more than you can ever imagine, peace and happiness suddenly become attainable. God takes pleasure in you: and that is all that matters.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for taking pleasure in me! You redeemed me when I didn’t deserve it. You rescued me from my sins when I was still in love with sinning. You saved me because You take pleasure in me. Thank You!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. – Zech 14:17

Worship brings the rain. God told His people that whomever would not worship Him would not receive rain. The opposite is also true: whoever worships Him will receive rain – abundant provision in the land God has given him!

We all need provision in some way, shape, or form. Maybe you need money to pay your bills. Perhaps you need capital to start a new business. Without worship, there will be no rain; but with worship, your land – the place God has given you to inhabit and prosper – will be covered with the rain it needs to thrive!

…then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil. – Deut 11:14

Prayer:

Father, I will worship You with my whole life! Help me to remember that worship activates the rain. Worship brings light into the dark places in my life, and brings life into every lifeless space that needs Your presence!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!” – Rev 19:10

We spend too much time worshipping other people! We worship celebrities, bosses, mentors, other men and women we see as successful…the list goes on and on. But true peace comes from worshipping God alone!

God’s perception of you matters; no one else’s does.  True freedom means breaking free from the shackles of other people’s opinions. Are you doing what He has called you to do, regardless of what other people think? Are you worshipping Him with all your heart?

Prayer:

Father, I confess that I worry too much about what other people think. Your opinion is the only one that matters! Help me to worship You – and only You – with my whole heart!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain. The Lord will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone. – Zech 10:1

The rain was promised at the right time; but the people still had to ask! There are things God wants to do in your life to answer prayers and fulfill promises; but you still have to ask Him to make them happen! You have to wait until the right time to ask – timing is paramount – but we must never forget to ask.

Yet you do not have because you do not ask. – Jas 4:2

Prayer:

Father, give me the confidence to ask for the things I need. Give me the confidence to ask for the things You want me to have! I know You promise the rain; but I still have to ask for the clouds to open.

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“…and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” – Rev 17:14

You are called, chosen, and faithful. You are who God says you are!

The path to change is not to try and avoid certain characteristics; it is to adopt them and grow into them. Constructive change happens when we let God’s word sink into our lives: when we believe what His word declares about us, even when we don’t see it with our eyes. You are called, chosen, and faithful – not because you feel it or because you deserve it; but because God says you are!

I spoke with a woman after service last night who was having trouble managing her finances. The prescription was not to tell her, “Spend less, and save more.” The solution was to follow the voice of the Holy Spirit and declare over her, “God says you are a good steward.” As we declare God’s word over us, change happens. She can now grow into God’s declaration that she is a wise, responsible money manager.

You are who He says you are!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the power in Your word. I declare that I am who You say I am! I will not believe anything else, and I refuse to settle for anything less, in Jesus’ name!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Happy are the people who are in such a state; Happy are the people whose God is the Lord! – Ps 144:15

Salvation makes you happy! Knowing Jesus as Lord makes you happy! On Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. God, “…so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (Jn 3:16).” Jesus came; and everything changed!

Jesus’ birth means every prophetic promise for the Messiah was true. Jesus’ death means every sin you have ever committed is forgiven. Jesus’ resurrection means that there is an eternal future in Heaven for you!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for abundant joy. Thank You for salvation, and for being my God. You fill me with joy, and make me happy!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“And this shall come to pass if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.” – Zech 6:15

There are things God wants to do that will only be possible if you diligently heed His voice. There are things God wants to birth in your life, but He needs you to pay attention!

God doesn’t need your permission; but He does desire your partnership. If you do not listen with open ears, His Holy Spirit will work through someone else; but if you stop and make time to hear His voice, you will play a part in heavenly history. Be a part of the divine destiny God has in store for you!

Prayer:

Father, make me diligent to obey Your voice. Help me to listen, and then act, in that order. Help me always to lean in to Your voice!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.” – Zech 4:6

Might and power are good; but Spirit is better! The strength you need to accomplish your dreams is only available from God’s Holy Spirit. If you try to succeed alone, you will fail; but with God, all things are possible!

Would you believe that God wants to see you accomplish your dreams even more than you do? His desire is to partner with you, so that everything you have ever hoped for will come to pass. You have a choice: you can struggle and strive to do everything on your own, knowing your efforts will be in vain; or, you can rely on God’s Holy Spirit to do the miraculous through you!

So, what’s it going to be?

Prayer:

Father, help me to rest in the finished work of the Cross. Help me to rely on Your Holy Spirit. I want to lean on Your strength, and never my own, in Jesus’ name!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

For thus says the Lord of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.” – Zech 2:8

You are the apple of God’s eye! When someone touches you, they are touching God’s most prized possession! When someone lashes out against you, it is as if they are offending God Himself! When things aren’t going your way, God takes a vested interest!

You don’t have to get vengeance for yourself, because God will rush to your defense. He will keep you as the apple of His eye, all of your days:

Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings… – Ps 17:8

Prayer:

Father, I am so honored that You love me like You do! Thank You for keeping me as the apple of Your eye. Thank You for loving me as Your child.
