Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. – Josh 1:5

You become like those you serve! Joshua spent years serving Moses. He watched as Moses talked with God face to face! He served Moses selflessly for most of his adult life; and in return, God raised Joshua up in Moses’ place. Every promise God made to Moses would come true for Joshua.

Find someone who knows God the way you want to know Him. Seek out someone who sees signs, miracles and wonders like you want to see them! Serve them; and God will make you like them.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for making me like the people I serve! I pray You would put strong people in my life and invite me to serve them, in Jesus’ name.

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to help you…” – Deut 33:26

God rides the heavens to help you. He is in a hurry to save you from danger, and to make sure you are safe and sound. God’s express purpose is to make sure you are out of harm’s way!

God is not up in Heaven, waiting for you to figure everything out yourself. He is not waiting on you to find a way out of your own mistakes! As soon as you are in trouble, He comes running to your side. All you have to do is receive Him!

Prayer:

Father, You are my present help in time of need. Whenever I need You, You are here! Thank You for never skipping a beat, and for never being far from my side, in Jesus’ name.

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; their foot shall slip in due time… – Deut 32:35

Vengeance belongs to God; and that means it doesn’t belong to us. Scripturally speaking, we have no right to retaliate against our enemies. God’s promise is that when we stand aside, He will settle the score!

If someone says something that offends you, let it go. If someone does something that rubs you the wrong way, let it go. It’s not worth getting angry if anger is going to take your eyes off Jesus, or interfere with your love for others. You just worry about loving God with all your heart; and He will take care of the rest!

Prayer:

Father, help me to let it go! I declare that offense and anger have no hold on me. Whenever I’m offended, help me to let it go, in Jesus’ name!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” – Lk 12:11-12

God wants us to have tough conversations without fear. He wants us to make important presentations without stress! Jesus told His disciples they would be put on trial and fight for their lives. They would have to defend the Gospel in front of magistrates and rulers! But God didn’t want them to feel any pressure; in fact, He told them to not even prepare!

The Holy Spirit will tell us exactly what to say, and exactly when to say it. All He needs from us is obedience: to open our mouths when He fills us with speech! What tough conversations have you been putting off? Launch into them – fearlessly – with full faith that God will have them for you!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for speaking through me. From this day forward, I declare that I will never be speechless. I trust that You will speak through me, in Jesus’ name!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. – Deut 30:5

Possession is permanent. No matter how far God’s people strayed from Him, His promise was that He would always gather them back to Him. The land that belonged to their fathers was still theirs; it was a permanent possession!

Just because you messed up doesn’t mean your destiny is canceled. Your calling is not null and void because you made some mistakes!! Your past makes you uniquely qualified to preach the Gospel in a way – and to certain people – that no one else can.

Come back to God. His promises are still in effect; and He will welcome you home, into His kingdom, with open arms.

Prayer:

Father, thank You that possession is permanent! I know that You are faithful to forgive. I repent of all my sins, and I believe the blood of Jesus washes me clean!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.” – Deut 28:8

Are you in the land He has given you? If you try to find blessing outside of the calling God has put on your life, the blessing will never materialize like you hope; but if you simply step out and do what He’s asked you to do, He will bless, “…all to which you set your hand.” If you’re outside the land He’s given you, you won’t be abundantly blessed; but if you go where He’s called you, the blessings of the Lord will chase you down!

What has God called you to do? Do it! Whom has He called you to be? Be him (her)! Where has He called you to labor? Go there! When you’re in the right place, you will receive the blessings of the Lord.

The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it. – Prov 10:22

Prayer:

Father, show me where You want me to be. Tell me what You want me to do! Call me where You want me to labor. Make me faithful to do everything You want me to do, in Jesus’ name!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Then we cried out to the Lord God of our fathers, and the Lord heard our voice and looked on our affliction and our labor and our oppression. So the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders. – Deut 26:7-8

The Israelites didn’t have to fight their way out of captivity. They simply had to lift up their voices and cry out to God! When they cried, He heard; and when He heard, He moved!

You don’t have to fight your way to breakthrough. Cry out to God! Lift your voice, and make your desires known to Him. He will fight for you, and deliver you from all your fears.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your faithfulness! Thank You for fighting for me. I know I don’t have to insist on fighting my own battes; when I cry out, You will deliver me!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” – Lk 10:17-18

Jesus gave the disciples the authority to heal the sick, cleanse lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons. The disciples went out and used the name of Jesus to cast out demons. They came back, excited about what they had seen, and ready to tell Jesus!

But Jesus wasn’t impressed. His message to them was simple: there is more. No matter what you’ve seen God do: there is more. No matter whom you’ve seen God heal: there is more. No matter what prayers you’ve seen answered: there is more! Jesus didn’t want His disciples to settle for what they had already seen. He wanted them to continue their pursuit of the miraculous their entire lives!

He wants the same for you. Have confidence in the authority Jesus has given you. Don’t settle for what you’ve seen. Pray for the impossible with boldness that God can do anything; because there is always more!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for always pushing the bounds of what I think is possible. Thank You for expanding the limits of my faith! Help me to believe for breakthrough with boldness, in Jesus’ name.

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. – Lk 10:1

God sends us; and then He follows. Jesus sent His disciples “into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.” That means if He sends you somewhere – a family, a city, or a nation – He wants you to prepare the way for Him! Wherever He sends you, He will show up! Our words, and our prayers, will be followed by tangible manifestations of His glory.

Jesus sent His disciples “before His face.” That means that as He sent them, He was watching out for them. He was praying for them. He was taking note of what they were up to, so He could confirm their speech with signs, miracles and wonders:

And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. – Mk 16:20

Jesus will never leave you hanging! If He sends you somewhere, He is right on your heels.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for never leaving me high and dry. Help me to preach with boldness, knowing that wherever You send me, You will show up!

Day 91: God’s Unchanging Love

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

I was so foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before You. Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. – Ps 73:22-24

This is the Psalmist’s honest confession: he was foolish and ignorant. He had been like a “beast” before God – wild, and without restraint! Nevertheless…he had stayed by God’s side through it all; and God had stayed with him!

Even when we are foolish, God stays by our side! Even when we are ignorant, He is patient with us, and trains us as a parent trains a child (Prov 13:24). Even when we are stubborn and refuse to move on our own, He carries us, “…as a  father carries his son” (Deut 1:31)!

There is nothing you can do to cancel God’s love for you! Just hang on to Him, and He will hang on to you. He will hold you by the hand, and guide you with His counsel. And at the end of your life, when all is said and done, He will receive you into Heaven with open arms!

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. – Jas 4:8

Prayer:

Father, thank You for never turning Your back on me. You love me with an infinite love that cannot be canceled, and cannot be changed! Thank You for Your everlasting love, in Jesus’ name.
