Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. – Jas 4:7

Satan has no power over you. You don’t have to fight him; simply resist him and he will flee. That means that before you can even win the fight, Satan will give up fighting.

It is wise to be ready for spiritual warfare; but before you even walk into the battle, know that Jesus has already won the war.

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. – Lk 10:19

Prayer:

Father, thank You for giving me authority over all power of the enemy. Thank You that as I resist him, he has to flee!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

I called on the Lord in distress; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. – Ps 118:5

God takes us out of tight spots, and sets us in broad places. Tight spots are stressful: they happen when we are so surrounded by obstacles that we lose perspective and forget we serve the living God. Broad places are stress-free: they happen when we are positioned to survey our options, far above all distractions, and realize how high God has already lifted us up.

God is willing to remove you from distress and set you in a broad place; but if you want to be delivered, you have to call on the Lord. Lift up your voice and cry out to Him! What would take you years will take God but one moment.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for supernatural deliverance. Thank You for taking me out of tight spots and putting me in broad places. I release all my stress to You, in Jesus’ name.

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath… – Jas 1:19

Wise men and women are “swift to hear” and “slow to speak.” The more you listen, the more the quality of your relationships improves. Good romantic relationships are ones in which each partner knows how to listen. Good friendships are those in which each party finds it more important to hear what the other person is saying, than to speak one’s own mind.

The same is true of your relationship with God! How much of your prayer time do you spend talking versus listening? How often do you ask God to speak to you, and then continue to fill any empty space with words? Have open ears and closed lips. Listen first, and speak later!

Prayer:

Father, help me to listen more and talk less. You have given me ears to hear. Help me to open them and listen for Your voice, in Jesus’ name!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come. – Ezek 36:8

God prepares provision for His people. He spoke to the land of Israel before His people arrived, and told it to be fertile: to “shoot forth branches…and yield fruit.” You don’t have to worry about provision; when you are where God has called you to be, He will provide!

Prophesy to the land where God has called you to serve Him. Tell it to bear fruit. Tell it to shoot forth branches in Jesus’ name! You don’t have to provide for yourself, because God will make provision for you.

Save now, I pray, O Lord; O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity. – Ps 118:25

Prayer:

Father, thank You for making provision where you send me! I am where You want me to be; and I will not fear, because provision is already here.

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. – Heb 13:8

All throughout human history, we see one important theme: God does what He says He will do. When He said He would deliver His people from captivity in Egypt, He did it (Ex 14:14). When He said He would provide His people with their own inheritance, He did it (Ex 23:31). When He said He would send His only Son to die for our sins, He did it (Rom 8:32)!

God is the same today as He was then. If He delivered on His promises then, He will deliver on them now. God does not change. His promises do not change! So the only person who can cancel God’s promise by changing is…you! But as long as you don’t give up, the promise still stands. As long as you don’t walk away, the promise still stands! As long as there is breath in your lungs, the promise still stands!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your great, unchanging love! Thank You that as long as I am alive, there is still time. Help me to believe in Your promises like never before, in Jesus’ name.

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“There is Edom, her kings and all her princes, who despite their might are laid beside those slain by the sword; they shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with those who go down to the Pit.” – Ezek 32:29

In Ezekiel 32, God is listing all the great nations who went to war with Israel. Egypt would go down to the Pit (v 18). Assyria would be there too, “All of them slain, fallen by the sword” (v 22). Elam could not avoid death (v 24), nor could Meshech and Tubal. All of these nations were experts at war; but at the end of their reign, they had nothing to show for it. All of them went the way of the world. All of them – because they did not know God – would end up in Hell.

Heaven is all that matters. You can build the biggest empire the world has ever seen; but if you don’t know God, all of it is a waste. If you don’t have God, you have nothing; but if you have Him, you have it all!

“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” – Matt 16:26

Prayer:

Father, I am making a decision today to live for eternity. I don’t want to spend my life chasing after temporal rewards. I want You! I want to live for Heaven, in Jesus’ name.

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

…looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. – Heb 12:2

Looking unto Jesus is the most important thing we can ever do. When we look unto Him, our problems fade. When we look unto Him, our enemies flee. When we look unto Him, we shed our weakness and our struggles, and are filled with the strength Jesus died for us to have!

You become what you behold. No matter what you are going through, look unto Jesus. Never stop looking to the Cross!

Prayer:

Father, help me to keep my eyes on Jesus, no matter what! I pray I would never be distracted from the finished work of the Cross, in Jesus’ name.

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned. – Heb 11:29

How is it that some people can pass through an ocean and not get wet, while others drown? Faith makes all the difference! The people of Israel had faith. They passed through the Red Sea because Moses – their leader – trusted God and stepped out on His word. The Egyptians passed through the same sea, but they didn’t have the same faith. Instead of safe passage to the other side, they met utter destruction.

Faith is the difference between deliverance and destruction. Believe in God’s ability and willingness to deliver you, and you will be indestructible! You will cross over from where you are, to where He wants you to be.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for faith! I recognize faith makes all the difference. Increase my faith, in Jesus’ name. Help me to believe in Your promises and Your word like never before!

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. – Heb 11:3

Have you ever watched a house being built? The framing process determines where everything goes. Pieces are fit together, one at a time, to give a structure support and shape. When we build a house, we use wood or steel to frame. But God doesn’t build like us.

The worlds were framed by the word of God. God doesn’t need wood or steel; He only needs His word. Everything you see around you is framed – built and fit together – by God’s word. God spoke, and the world was formed. There is power in the word of God. When God speaks, things take shape!

Are you declaring God’s word over yourself out loud? There are things God wants to build in your life that will not happen until you declare His word over yourself. God gave us His word so we can speak it out in prayer. When His word is spoken, things start to take shape! The world was framed by the word of God; and your life will be too!

Prayer:

Father, thank You that prayer is a framing process. When I pray with Your word, Your Holy Spirit is building through me: setting up and fitting together pieces in my life so that everything fits Your design.

Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. – Heb 10:39

Your faith is either growing or dying. If you use it, it will grow and expand. You will see your testimony develop, and a little bit of faith will lead to so much more. But if you back away from faith, it will atrophy and prove harder to rely on the next time you really need it.

Don’t draw back! Press forward. Believe like never before. Give your faith room to grow, and put it to the test. God will never let you down.

Prayer:

Father, increase my faith! Help me to believe in You like never before. Help me to rely on You like never before, in Jesus’ name!
