Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them… – Gen 1:27-28
God created man: male and female. Then, He blessed them. God’s first action towards all mankind was to bless us! That sets a precedent for His intentions for us. God is never out to get you, or to punish you. In every situation, and at all times, God wants to remove all obstacles to getting you blessed!
Centuries of doctrine and dogma have covered up the simple reality that God’s first – and only – intention in creating mankind was to bless us. Satan was able to distort this reality, by convincing Adam and Eve that everything God was willing to offer was not enough. You and I, however, can learn from their mistakes. You and I can know better! Through disobedience, we can unwillingly erect barriers that stop the flow of God’s blessings in our lives. But that was never God’s will. That is our mistake; not His.
Keep it simple. God’s desire is to bless you: no matter who you are, where you’re from, or what you’ve done. When you give (or re-dedicate) your life to Christ, the pathway is cleared for the blessings of Heaven to flow into your life.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for blessing me! I believe that You are good. I believe that through Jesus Christ, I have access to all the resources of Heaven. Thank You for your goodness and kindness towards me!
