Commentary from Pastor Mike White:

He left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses. – Joshua 11:15

Joshua inherited the promise of Moses: God promised Joshua, “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses” (Joshua 1:3).

Joshua inherited the power of Moses: the waters of the River Jordan stood in a heap (Josh 3:16), just as waters of the Red Sea stood on end for Moses.

Joshua inherited the anointing of Moses: “So the Lord was with Joshua, and his fame spread throughout all the country” (Josh 6:27).

The promise, power, and anointing of Moses fell on Joshua for one purpose: so that Joshua could fulfill everything God had commanded Moses. The anointing empowered Joshua for obedience. God does not anoint us just for fun; He anoints us for a purpose. He designed Joshua to take on the burden Moses could not bear alone, and He has designed you to accomplish a mission no one else on earth can manage.

What have you been anointed for?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for making me unique! I know I have been anointed for a specific purpose. I humbly ask You to show me what that is, so that I can walk forward and fulfill my design!
