Commentary from Pastor Mike White:

“Whoever falls on that stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.” – Lk 20:18

Our choice is simple: fall on the Rock, or the Rock will fall on us. Every one of us will worship Jesus at the end of our lives. When we see Him face to face, we will know that He Is the Son of God. When we see Him, we will all worship Him involuntarily; but the invitation that you and I have, here and now, is to choose to worship him voluntarily. Eternal reward will be reserved for those of us who make that choice while we’re still alive.

God’s will is for each and every single one of us to give our lives to Jesus. He has done everything He possibly can to let us know that Jesus is His Son. First, He sent His prophets to foretell of the Messiah’s coming (Lk 20:10-12). Then, because we would not respond, He sent His Only Son. But instead of receiving Him as Lord, we cast Him out and killed Him.

God has shown us His glory. If you’re waiting for God to prove He is real in your life, please don’t wait any longer. Jesus told the story of a rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16. The rich man ended up in Hades, and asked Abraham to warn his family, so they could avoid the torment he had fallen into. Abraham’s response was that he had already done all he could do: “They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them” (Lk 16:29).

God has shown us infinite grace and mercy. Jesus Christ died for our sins. He loved us to death, even as we rejected Him. It is now our joy to love Him for life.

Prayer:

Father, increase my faith! Help me to trust in the finished work of the Cross. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, and I trust in Him for salvation! It is His name, and the strength in His name, that makes me whole!
