Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

The Lord gave them rest all around, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers. And not a man of all their enemies stood against them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand. – Josh 21:44

Taking hold of God’s promises leads to rest! The Lord gave Israel, “…the land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers” (v 43); and then He gave them rest.

The Promised Land represents your calling and purpose. If you don’t know whom God has called you to be, rest and fulfillment will be impossible! But once you take possession of His purpose for your life, rest will be inevitable.

Devote the time in prayer required to figure out what God put you on this earth to do. Then, go out and do it!

Prayer:

Father, give me discernment to know whom You have called me to be. I know Your Holy Spirit will give me the strength to step up and become that person! I want to know Your Biblical rest, in Jesus’ name.
