Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Then Manoah prayed to the Lord, and said, “O my Lord, please let the Man of God whom You sent come to us again and teach us what we shall do for the child who will be born.” – Judges 13:8

The Angel of the Lord visited Manoah’s wife, and told her she would have a son. She was given limited instruction: “And He said to me, ‘Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. Now drink no wine or similar drink, nor eat anything unclean, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death” (Judges 13:7). Manoah’s wife was so awed by the presence of God that she forgot to ask for more details.

When she told her husband what had taken place, they realized they needed more information. How should they raise the boy? What should they do for him to make sure God’s promise over his life was fulfilled? Would he need any special training to fulfill his calling?

Manoah didn’t know; so he prayed for another visitation. He asked God to come back so he could experience Him again. And because Manoah asked, God granted him another encounter.

There’s nothing wrong with asking for another visitation. You will never reach a place where you don’t genuinely need more of God; and there should never be a time when we don’t genuinely want more of God. Ask for another encounter, and He will come.

Prayer:

Father, I need another encounter with You!! Give me the boldness to ask for more: of Your presence, and of Your purpose and will for my life. I believe that when I ask in faith, I will receive in Jesus’ name!
