Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and Your glory above the earth; that Your beloved may be delivered…- Ps 108:5-6

Deliverance happens when God is exalted. To “exalt” God means to lift Him up: to praise Him with our whole hearts and make Him Lord of our lives.

The more you focus on your problems, the bigger they will appear. Our tendency is to allow our problems to occupy our attention; but Jesus introduced a new way of thinking to His disciples. “Seek first the kingdom of God,” He said, “and all these things shall be added to you” (Matt 6:33).

We don’t have to focus on our problems. We don’t have to work for breakthrough and deliverance! As we simply keep our eyes on Jesus and lift Him up in praise, He will deliver us.

Prayer:

Father, help me to focus wholeheartedly on You. When I exalt You, deliverance will happen. I am Your beloved: I am Yours, and You are mine!
