Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the Lord will work for us. For nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few.” – 1 Sam 14:6

Sometimes God gives you confident assurance of His plan with a “Thus sayeth the Lord.” At other times, He asks you to trust Him by faith. Jonathan and his armor bearer didn’t have a plan. They didn’t know what they were going to do! But they had hope: “…it may be that the Lord will work for us.”

What areas in your life is God calling you to step out in faith? Is there anywhere you’re waiting for a firm word from God, where He has already given you an, “It may be?” Isn’t it better to step out on an “it may be” than to never step out at all?

Step out in faith. Do what God is calling you to do! It may be that He will meet you there, and make your dreams come true.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for hope! Fill me with faith to step out and do what You are calling me to do. Even if I just have an “it may be,” I declare it’s enough!
