Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
So Jonathan told David, saying, “My father Saul seeks to kill you. Therefore please be on your guard until morning, and stay in a secret place and hide.” – 1 Sam. 19:2

Everywhere David went, he had people looking out for him. When Saul had plans to kill David, Jonathan intervened:

So Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence as in times past. – 1 Sam. 19:7

When Saul tried to kill David in his sleep, Michal stepped in:

Saul also sent messengers to David’s house to watch him and to kill him in the morning. And Michal, David’s wife, told him, saying, “If you do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be killed.” – 1 Sam. 19:11

After David fled and Saul pursued him, Samuel blocked the attack:

Then Saul sent messengers to take David. And when they saw the group of prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as leader over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied. – 1 Sam. 19:20

Everywhere David went, he was protected! When his enemy tried to sabotage him, God always had someone on the inside so David could get the jump on Saul. And God will do the same thing for you.

Yes, you have an enemy named Satan whose job it is to seek, kill, and destroy you (Jn. 10:10). But God will tell you what your enemy is up to in advance so you never have to fear! He will keep you safe and sound: because He loves you, and His favor is upon your life.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for protecting me! I don’t deserve Your protection; but You give it to me all the same. Thank You that Jesus purchased my safety with His blood, and I never have to fear the enemy!
