Commentary from Pastor Mike White:

When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. – Jn 20:20

When Jesus appeared to His disciples after the Resurrection, He did not hide His wounds. He put the holes in His hands, and His side, on open display. He showed the disciples His wounds so that they would understand and believe everything He had been through.

Your wounds prove God’s faithfulness. Your wounds serve as an active demonstration of everything God has delivered you from. They are evidence to the people around you that God can do anything! When we hide our wounds, we mask God’s power; but when we show our wounds, we put God’s power on display!

Be vulnerable. Don’t hide your wounds and pretend to be without blemish. Show your wounds to others so that they might believe!

Prayer:

Father, help me to be transparent with the people around me. My wounds put Your power on full display. Everything You have done in me is a miraculous testimony. Help me to go out and tell the world!
