Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn… – 1 Kings 2:3

This was David’s final command to his son Solomon: Keep God’s Word. David was at the end of his life, about to take his last breath. He could have spoken to Solomon about what it means to be king. He could have told him how to be a good husband, or a good father! He could have told Solomon how to manage his resources wisely. But David summed up all the advice he had to give with one command: Keep God’s Word.

God’s Word is the most prized possession you can ever have. Treasure it! Own it. Receive it over your life; and live it out, everywhere you go, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your Word. Thank You that as I keep Your Word, everything You have promised will come to pass. I will prosper in all that I do, wherever I turn, in Jesus’ name!
