CityLight Pastor Commentary:
“So it was, as they were burying a man…when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet” (2 Kings 13:21). Even after Elisha was dead and gone, his bones were still so anointed that a dead man was raised to life after touching them! We see a similar story with Paul in Acts 19: even handkerchiefs or aprons that touched Paul’s body healed the sick! As Christians, we are meant to be contagious. There should be something life-giving about us that other people want to be around. The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead gives life to our bodies (Rom 8:11), so let’s live like it!
Father, fill me with Your Holy Spirit! I want to be so anointed that my clothes carry Your Presence. Confirm Your word in me as You perform signs, wonders and miracles through my hands!
