Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then you will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgments with which the Lord charged Moses concerning Israel. – 1Chron 22:13a

At the end of his life, David had one last word of advice for his son, Solomon: “take care” to fulfill the word of God. Do what God asks of you. Exercise obedience! If Solomon simply did what God said, God would be with Solomon, and he would “prosper” (v 11).

Obedience leads to abundance. Are you suffering lack in your life? Are there areas where your needs aren’t met? What has God called you to do in that area of your life that you’re not doing? Are you honoring Him with the tithe? Are you offering Him your best? Are you giving Him your all, and stepping out with courageous faith to do everything He has called you to do?

If you do what God asks, you will prosper. Obedience is not something you “try,” just to see if it works. Obedience is something you do, simply because God says it’s right.

Prayer:

Father, give me strength to be obedient! I love You with all my heart, and I want to serve You with all my life. Thank You for blessing me with simple obedience: I will go where You tell me to go, say what You tell me to say, and do what You tell me to do, in Jesus’ name!
