CityLight Pastor Commentary:

“Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt” (Rom 4:4). We have a choice to make. If we choose to live according to the law, we will be judged according to the law. If we choose to work for our own salvation, our wages will be counted as debt, and we already know going into our judgment that our debt can never be paid. Or, we can live according to grace. God so loved us that He sent His only Son to suffer and die on the Cross so that we would be redeemed! When we choose Jesus Christ, we choose grace. When we choose Jesus Christ, we choose to be judged according to His sinless life. When we rely on the finished work of the Cross, Christ’s righteousness becomes our own. Choose Jesus Christ!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the price Jesus paid. I choose grace. Shower me with the glory and honor only Your Son deserves! Father, thank You for the price Jesus paid. I choose grace. Shower me with the glory and honor only Your Son deserves! Father, thank You for the price Jesus paid. I choose grace. Shower me with the glory and honor only Your Son deserves! Father, thank You for the price Jesus paid. I choose grace. Shower me with the glory and honor only Your Son deserves! Father, thank You for the price Jesus paid. I choose grace. Shower me with the glory and honor only Your Son deserves!
