Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
So the advice was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants. And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?” – Gen. 41:37-38

Joseph didn’t ask to be second in command over all of Egypt. But when he interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams, Pharaoh insisted: “You shall be over all my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word” (Gen. 41:40). Joseph simply exercised the God-given gifting inside him, and God did the rest.

What made Joseph so special was not intellect, talent or craftiness. What made Joseph special was the Spirit of God. When Joseph spoke, people around him recognized the wisdom of God’s Holy Spirit. When Joseph gave advice, people around him recognized the hand of the Spirit of the Lord. The Holy Spirit was all over Joseph, and everyone who met him knew it!

You don’t need to promote yourself. You don’t need to network and get noticed! You simply need to be fully of the Holy Spirit, and God will take care of the rest.

Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business… – Acts 6:3

Prayer:

Father, help me to lean on Your Holy Spirit like never before. I know You always know better than me! Help me to trust You, and to seek You now more than ever, in Jesus’ name.
