Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. – Rom 6:12
God gave you authority over your life. He gave you authority over your body. You get to say no to sin by the blood of Jesus. You get to say no to sickness because by His stripes you are healed (Is 53:5). You get to say no to death because Jesus was raised from the dead (Rom 6:9)!
But first, you must say yes to Jesus. Invite Him into your heart, and let Him change you from the inside out. When you say yes to Jesus, everything changes.
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. – Rom 6:14
Prayer:
Father, thank You for giving me freedom from all sin. Thank You for blessing me with the authority to say no to the things I don’t want in my life, and yes to all the benefits of the Cross, in Jesus’ name!
