CityLight Pastor Commentary:
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him…” (2 Chron 16:9). God has always sought to love, bless and protect His children. So many of us have the wrong impression, and think that His eyes run to as fro throughout the whole earth, looking for people to punish. But God is loving! He searches the whole earth to see whom He can bless. And it has always been this way. In the creation story, God’s first action towards man was blessing: “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them…” (Gen 1:27-28). That set a precedent that still has not expired. God has always sought to bless us. Even today, He looks to bless us however He can!
Prayer:
Father, thank You that You always seek to bless me when I seek You with all my heart! I am an heir to the promise of Abraham, and the intended recipient of all the blessings of Jesus Christ!
