Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Now while Ezra was praying, and while he was confessing, weeping, and bowing down before the house of God, a very large assembly of men, women, and children gathered to him from Israel; for the people wept very bitterly. – Ezra 10:1

Ezra prayed, and people gathered. They felt what he felt! But they didn’t know how to express their emotion in prayer. So Ezra showed them.

Do you want to inspire people to pray? Pray it, don’t say it! Show them how you pray. Pour your heart out before the Lord and let them witness your sacrifice. Don’t ask people to go places you have never been in prayer! Set an example, and lead them where you have been.

If you’re a parent, it’s your job to lead your children into prayer. If you’re a manager, it’s your joy to show your staff what it looks like to pray! Everywhere you go today, you have the opportunity to lead people into prayer.

Prayer:

Lord, I am going to lead by praying today. I’m not going to say it! I’m just going to pray it. Help me to show everyone around me what it looks like to live a life of devoted prayer, in Jesus’ name.
