Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost. For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. – 1 Cor 16:8-9

Paul was not intimidated by adversaries; he was excited by the prospect of defeating them! He would not miss out on his chance to preach the gospel in a region with heavy opposition. Paul understood a simple truth: with opposition comes opportunity.

Don’t run from conflict; run to it. God has already given you the victory! Opposition is sometimes a sign that you are on the right track, and the enemy is trying to slow you down. So give him all you’ve got!

Prayer:

Father, give me the courage to tackle opposition head-on. I declare that I will not back down from tough situations in Jesus’ name. I know that every time I face conflict, I grow!
