Commentary from Pastor Mike White:
For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. – 1 Cor 16:9
Paul understood a simple truth: with every open door come new adversaries. Our job as Christians is to go into all the world and boldly preach the Gospel (Mk 16:15-18). Whenever a door for Kingdom expansion opens, Satan is not happy! He will do everything he can to take us out, before we can tell more people about salvation through Jesus Christ.
But thanks be to God that Jesus Christ conquered all our adversaries on the Cross! We are no longer fighting for victory; now we fight from victory! Death is defeated, and Jesus has complete authority over all our enemies. So whenever we walk through a new door, all we have to do is speak His name, and believe in His power!
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. – Lk 10:19
Prayer:
Father, thank You for open doors. Help me to walk into new territory with boldness, knowing that You have already won the victory!
