Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Therefore, when I was planning this, did I do it lightly? Or the things I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be Yes, Yes, and No, No? But as God is faithful, our word to you was not Yes and No. – 2 Cor 1:17-18

When Paul said yes, he meant it! He didn’t waffle back and forth in his commitments. He didn’t promise to do something, and then back out!

When God says something, He means it: His word is true, and He means what He says! If we want to be like Him, we must be men and women who keep our word.

Let your yes be yes, and your no be no. Say what you mean, and mean what you say! God stands by His word; will you stand by yours?

Prayer:

Father, make me a (wo)man of my word. When You say something, You mean it; and when I say something, I want to mean it! Let my yes be yes, in Jesus’ name.
