Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God. – Ps 43:5

David was in a dark place. His soul was cast down: disquieted within him. He was discouraged, seemingly for no reason! This was more than a bad day; this was a tough season.

But David knew exactly what to do: “I shall yet praise Him!” David’s worship would ignite hope within him. His worship would move him from fear to faith. His worship would take his eyes off his problems, and put them back on the Cross of Jesus Christ!

Worship is the best medicine. You may be going through a very tough time; but you have one decision to make: are you ready to praise God with your whole heart?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the power of worship! I know that when I worship, my soul is recalibrated. My hope is reignited, and my life is put back on track. Thank You for worship, in Jesus’ name!
