Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Is there anything of which it may be said, “See, this is new”? It has already been in ancient times before us. – Eccl 1:10

You don’t need to start from scratch! Why reinvent the wheel? There is nothing new under the sun. You can learn from the wisdom of the men and women who came before you. You can benefit from the testimonies of the people around you. Don’t do life alone! The purpose of Scripture is to give you a solid foundation upon which you can build your own life story. The purpose of a church family is to surround yourself with people who can help you walk through life with practical wisdom.

Are you going through a trial? There is someone in your life who has been through something similar. There are men and women in Scripture who can speak to you! Learn from their life stories. Learn from their mistakes! Have the humility to ask for help, and watch what God can do!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the strong men and women with whom You have surrounded me. Help me to learn and grow from their life stories, and benefit from their experience!
