Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. – 2 Cor. 9:6

2 Corinthians 9 is a master class in generosity. Here’s the deal: it’s up to you how much of God’s abundance you experience. Listen to what the Holy Spirit declares through the Apostle Paul:

But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.  – 2 Cor. 9:6

God is abundant! He does “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Eph. 3:20)! But not every Christian experiences God’s abundance. Some believers know about God’s abundance in potential form, but have yet to experience it in practice.

Jesus performed miracles. Why? He had perfect faith. And Scripture says that we will do “greater works” than Jesus did Himself (Jn. 14:12). Yet not everyone experiences the fullness of God’s miracle-working power because we don’t always exercise faith!

In the same way, Scripture promises abundance. But not every Christian will walk it out, because not everyone exercises generosity. Put God to the test! You will reap in the same way that you sow. So scatter that seed! And expect God to pour bountifully into every single area of your life, in Jesus’ name!

Prayer:

Father, help me to sow abundantly! I pray that I would be supernaturally generous. Fill me with faith to know that I can never out-give You! And thank You for the seed to put in the ground, in Jesus’ name.
