Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood. – Isaiah 1:15

This was God’s message to a sinful people. They had forgotten about Him, so He no longer heard their prayers! He no longer looked on their suffering, no matter how hard they prayed, because their sin had separated them from God.

But aren’t you glad the blood of Jesus has separated you from your sin, as far as the east is from the west (Ps 103:12)! Aren’t you happy God has redeemed you and made you whole! The Cross of Jesus Christ means God will never hide His eyes from your plight, or close His ears to your prayer!

When you believe in Jesus (Rom 10:9), nothing can separate you from God. He sees your struggle, and He hears your prayers!

Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ – Is 58:9

Prayer:

Father, thank You for hearing my prayers. Thank You for seeing what I’m going through! Thank You that neither height nor depth, nor any other thing, can separate me from Your love, in Jesus’ name!
