Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Therefore the Lord said: “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men…” – Isa. 29:13

God doesn’t want you to just honor Him with your lips! He wants you to love Him with all your heart. Doing all the right things is utterly meaningless unless you have a real relationship with God!

Take one day off from worrying about doing the right things. Instead, enjoy simply being a child of God. Incline your heart to God! Ask Him to remind you how much He loves you. Remember what your life was like before you received Jesus; and rejoice at how much richer your life is now!

Your heart is the greatest gift you can give to God. And your heart is enough.

Prayer:

Father, I give you my heart! No matter what happens – no matter what I do or fail to do – know this: You have my heart. I ask that You would increase my capacity to love You like never before, in Jesus’ name!
