Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. – Ps 63:2

There is power in corporate worship. Yes, I believe you can encounter God anywhere. You can have life-changing moments in individual worship. However, there is something special that happens when you come together with other believers and worship God with your whole heart.

The wine is in the cluster. Jesus told His disciples, “…where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matt 18:20). It wasn’t until the disciples gathered in the upper room that the Holy Spirit fell. When you gather for worship in your local church, Jesus will make Himself known!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for strength in numbers. I pray You would ground me in Christian community. Remind me of the importance of going to church, and worshipping with other people who call on the name of Jesus!
