Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. – Gal 5:1

Jesus has made you free! You are free from sin. You have been redeemed from the curse of the Law! He has done it ALL!

But now you have a part to play. Stand fast. To “stand fast” is the Greek steko,[1] which means to persevere, persist, or keep one’s standing. Jesus has given you a platform of freedom! And it is your responsibility to stay up there, instead of bending back down to the life you knew before He came.

Leave your old life behind. Don’t come down off the wall to engage the enemy in his empty threats.[2] Put your hand to the plow, and don’t look back! The life Jesus has for you is far better than anything He could ask you to leave behind.

“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” – C.S. Lewis

Prayer:

Father, thank You for freedom. I AM FREE IN JESUS’ NAME! I refuse to be entangled ever again with a yoke of bondage. You have made me free; and I will stay free, in Jesus’ name!
