Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary” (Ps 96:6). True strength, and true beauty, are in God’s sanctuary. If we look for these attributes in other people, we will end up disappointed. But if we look for those characteristics by seeking God, we will be satisfied. God displayed true strength, and true beauty, through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus had the strength to resist His accusers, yet he freely laid down His life for us. He had all of heaven’s beauty spread out before Him, yet He descended to earth to suffer for all mankind. As God’s people, we are His sanctuary because His Holy Spirit resides in us. When we cede control of our lives to God, He will show His strength and beauty through us!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your strength and beauty. Thank you for the man you have called me to be. I want Your divine attributes to shine through me, so I willingly step aside and ask You to work through me, in Jesus’ Name!
