Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance. – Ex. 12:14

God asks us to do physical things to remember spiritual victories. He asked His people to keep the Passover as a memorial to the victory He gave them over Egypt. He asks us to practice communion as a memorial to the victory Jesus won over the grave. God asks us to get baptized to identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ!

God never asks you to do something for nothing. As you do what He asked You to do, He will move! He will remind you of His faithfulness. He will fill you with hope, and move you to believe like you haven’t in years, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for physical reminders of spiritual truths. Thank You for baptism! Thank You for communion! Thank You for the Passover. Remind me to make important to me, the things that are important to You, in Jesus’ name.
