Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“Therefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, for whom she lusted.” – Ezek. 23:9

God was addressing Israel’s heart condition. Israel didn’t love Him anymore! Instead, they lusted after other gods. So God “delivered her into the hands of her lovers” (v. 9).

God gave you free will. You get to choose what’s most important to you, and God will respect that choice!. In fact, He will go out of His way to deliver you into the hand of whatever you love most. So if you love money, go get rich! But know that you can’t buy your way into heaven. If you make time for your friends more than you make time for Jesus, enjoy! But know that no man “can by any means redeem his brother” (Ps. 49:7). If you love good food and drink, satisfy that craving! But be aware that no delicacy can satisfy your hunger to know your Father in heaven.

Can your god get you into Heaven? Can the thing you’re lusting after take away all your sin? Christ alone can get you where you want to go. So return to Him, and love Him with all your heart.

Prayer:

Father, I pray You would deliver me to the feet of Jesus. I want to love You with my whole heart! Do not let me lust after anything or anyone that interferes with my love for You, in Jesus’ name.
