Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” – Ex. 14:13-14

The children of Israel left Egypt “with boldness” (v 8). But when they saw Pharaoh and his army chasing them, they panicked! What were they supposed to do? How could they win? What step did God want them to take next?

God wanted them to do less: to stop panicking and just trust Him! The remedy was to, “Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord” (v 13). When you stand still, God can move. He will accomplish the victory for you! If you try and fix things on your own, you will make them worse and not better. But if you let God fight for you, He will bring you perfect victory.

Prayer:

Father, I lay down my need to fight. Thank You for fighting for me! I trust You to bring me to victory, in Jesus’ name.
