Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. – Jas 1:5

Solomon wanted wisdom; so he asked for it. “Then God said to him: ‘Because you have asked this thing…behold, I have done according to your words…’” (1 Kings 3:11-12). God made Solomon the wisest man in the world (1 Kings 4:30). But Solomon had to ask.

Do you want to be wise? Ask! God will give to all – yes, you! – liberally and without reproach.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” – Matt 7:7-8

Prayer:

Father, give me the courage to ask for the things You want me to have. I know Scripture is an invitation to ask for the things of Heaven. I know when I ask according to Your will, it is done!
