Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. – Jas. 4:2

If you only knew how much God wants to bless you, you would never be jealous again. The most serious sins – lusting after something you do not have, coveting something that is not yours, murdering and taking matters into your own hands – are the result of a poverty mindset. A poverty mindset says that God does not have enough to go around: that if someone else gets their blessing before you, there won’t be enough left for you! So we fight and war as if God is out of goodness instead of just asking God for what we need!

Contentedness comes from realizing that God is a God of more than enough. He never runs out. He knows exactly what you need! And the way to get the answer to your prayers from Heaven to earth is simply to ask.

God has more than enough. Will you come to Him, knowing that He will bless you with everything you could ever need?

Prayer:

Father, help me to trust You like never before. You know what I need better than I know what I need! And there is always plenty of You to go around. I am grateful, in Jesus’ name.
