Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. – James 5:7

Destiny happens when spirit and truth intersect. The early rain represents the first dispensation: the law, or God’s Word. The latter rain represents the second dispensation: the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit as a result of His grace! Patience means waiting for spirit and truth to combine, and trusting that God will make a way where there is no way. We must wait for God’s timing, instead of asking Him to rush according to ours!

So, what has God spoken over you? What promises of life and abundance has He declared over your life? Are you willing to wait for the Holy Spirit to move before you try and take matters into your own hands? Wait for the Holy Spirit to move. Be patient! He will do in a moment what you could never have done in a lifetime.

So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.” – Zech. 4:6

Prayer:

Jesus, help me to be patient. I know You are moving! I know Your answer is on the way. Even if I don’t see it, You are in motion. Even if I don’t understand it, Your timing is perfect because You do not make mistakes! Jesus, I am so grateful for Your goodness, in Jesus’ name.
