Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
…who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed. – 1 Pet 2:24

Healing and salvation happened on the same day. When Jesus died on the Cross, He “bore our sins in His own body.” Our sin was crucified in His flesh!

In the same way, He bore our sickness in His own body. By His stripes, you were healed! He took on the pain and the deleterious effects of every disease you could ever encounter; and He did it so we could find our healing in Him.

Notice that Scripture says, “by [His] stripes you were healed.” It doesn’t say, you will be healed. It doesn’t say, you might be healed. It says, you were healed. Jesus already died for your sin; and He already died for your sickness. If you are dead to sin (Rom 6:2), that means you are dead to sickness and disease too! The things to which you are dead can no longer have a hold on you.

You trust Jesus for salvation. Are you ready to trust in Him for healing too?

Prayer:

Father, thank You that I was healed by the stripes of Your Son Jesus Christ! I am dead to sin, and I am dead to sickness and disease. I trust You for perfect healing, in Jesus’ name!
