Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then it happened, when I, Daniel, had seen the vision and was seeking the meaning, that suddenly there stood before me one having the appearance of a man. – Dan 8:15
Do you ever have a dream and not know what it means? Do you ever see a vision in prayer and not know what to make of it?
Ask for help. When we seek to understand what God has shown us, He will help us! Daniel saw something he didn’t understand (see vv 1-14); but he didn’t have to “get it” on his own. He simply had to seek God, and God sent a messenger from Heaven to explain everything to him!
Daniel didn’t have to stress about the vision. He simply had to ask God what it meant. As he requested help, God revealed the meaning.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for helping me to understand everything You show me. Thank You for telling me what my dreams mean. Thank You for telling me what I should pray for! Thank You for making sure I get the message, no matter how many times it takes to get through.
